Sefer Likutei Torah on Shir Hashirim – A Rare Variant Copy, Zhitomir 1848. First Edition - Sefer Likutei Torah on Shir Hashirim, printed by the Shapiro brothers, Zhitomir 1848. First Edition. Authored R. Shnuer Zalman of Liadi, the first Rebbe of Lubavitch, and prepared for print by his descendants.  The present copy is a rare variant, with the title in red and black ink, which indicates that it was printed as a single volume unto itself and not part of another volume. All other copies of this work however are printed in black-ink title pages only, and were issued as part of Likutei Torah on Sefer Devarim.  As such, this copy is presumably the first issue of the first edition, only to be reissued the same year but as a sequel to Sefer Devarim.  Bound with: Hosafos L'Sefer Likutei Torah, Zhitomir 1851. Printed with various approbations. Rare.  A wide-margined copy. To the best of our knowledge, a variant copy such as this has never been offered at auction.  In good condition.
