Rare: Seder Tefillah Derech Yeshara – With Approbation of The Hafla’ah, Offenbach Circa 1791 - Seder Tefillah Derech Yeshara, a very rare edition of the Siddur, printed with the approbation of R. Pinchas Halevi Horowitz, author of the Hafla’ah. Siddur Derech Yeshara was compiled by R. Yechiel Michel Epstein, author of Kitzur Shela. Due to its immense popularity, it was reprinted tens of times ever since it was first published in 1697. This edition includes prayers for the entire year, Selichos, Haggadah Shel Pesach, Minhagim, as well as Sefer Tehillim and Ma’amados, with a separate title page. Printed without a date on title page, although the approbations are dated 1791. Hence we assume it was printed at about this time. (The title page for Sefer Tehillim is dated 1793). A very rare edition. To the best of our knowledge, a complete copy such as this has never before appeared at auction. Complete with two title pages, the first being a lavishly illustrated woodcut design, featuring various biblical scenes. In very good-excellent condition with nice, generous margins; a very uncommon phenomenon for Hebrew prayer books. Seen on the inside cover is a handwritten prayer from the period of the printing. Bound in original leather binding; rubbed and partly damaged. [3], 5-28; 1-60; 1-46; 1-78; 1-62, [1], 64-165 pp. Page size: Approx. 24cm
