Maseches Avos With Commentary of The Vilna Gaon, Shklov 1804. First Edition. Personal Copy of R. Yaakov Berlin, Father of The Netziv of Volozhin - Pirkei Avos, with Rashi and the commentary of the Vilna Gaon, Shklov 1804. First edition, brought to print by R. Mendel of Shklov and the Gaon’s sons, R. Avraham and R. Yehuda Leib.  With a lengthy introduction written by R. Mendel of Shklov, in which he brings various fundamental principles which he heard directly from the Gaon himself. Ever since its publication, this particular introduction has become famous for its important content regarding the teachings of the Gaon. The personal copy of R. Yaakov Berlin of Mir (1794-1870), father of the Netziv of Volozhin, with his autograph and handwritten comments seen on several pages throughout the book. In his later years, he emigrated to Jerusalem where he is buried.  In overall good condition, with light dampstaing. Minor trace worming is seen on some pages.
