Sefer Yesod: Teshuvos MaHarit Tzahalon – Mahari Tatz – Venice 1694, First Edition - A fine, complete copy of Teshuvos R. Yom Tov Tzahalon, commonly referred to in the Yeshiva world as the MaHari-Tatz. This first edition was printed in Venice in 1694. Authored by R. Yom Tov Tzahalon (1559-1638) and published by his grandson. He was a disciple of the Beis Yosef – R. Yosef Karo, as well as R. Moshe Alshich and R. Moshe of Trani – the Mabit. This work is frequently quoted by many contemporary works studied in the Yeshiva world. On verso of title page is a beautiful layout of the third temple and some vessels of the Beis HaMikdash, according to the diagram issued by the Tosafos Yom Tov. Toward the end of the preface is an additional striking woodcut of similar nature. Interestingly, the publisher notes that these woodcuts are featured here solely in order to beautify the Sefer. In very good condition, bound in an ornate leather binding. Final leaf slightly repaired with old tape. [9], 223, 25 pp. Page size: 28.5cm See also: Stefansky Hebrew Classics pp. 84 (First printing).
