Sefer Hon Ashir, Amsterdam 1731. First Edition. With Musical Notes Composed by Author - A complete copy of Sefer Hon Ashir, a comprehensive and fundamental commentary on the Mishnayos. First Edition. Authored by renowned Kabbalist R. Emmanuel Chai Riki, author of “Mishnas Chassidim”. Ever since its publication, this work has become a classic commentary on the Mishnah, and has been incorporated into many editions. The author completed this work while living in Tzfat, as he relates at length in his introduction.  This work famously includes two compositions by the author, along with their respective music notes. According to legend, Rebbe MaHarash of Lubavitch actually used these very notes to compose his legendary “L’Chatchilah Ariber” tune. Moreover, Chassidim have attributed the origins of this tune to the style of the Arizal and his teachings. If true, we can assume that it is based on none other than the tune of R. Emmanuel Chai Riki, who was instrumental in transmitting the Mesorah of the Arizal and his disciples.
