Sefer Derech Chochmah – A Tetralogy of Works by The Ramchal, Amsterdam 1783. First Edition - A tetralogy of works written by R. Moshe Chaim Luzzato bound in one volume, published from manuscript after his death. First edition, Amsterdam 1783. Printed by the widow and sons of Yaakov Proops, one of Amsterdam’s leading printing houses.  The first work is entitled Derech Chochmah, which aims to clarify the purpose of one’s life while on this earth. This work is similar to Ramchal’s classic Mesillas Yesharim, albeit with differences. For example, the present work is written in a dialogue form between student and teacher, thereby clarifying these matters on an intellectual level, whereas Mesillas Yesharim focuses on achieving perfection with guidance on how to arrive at that goal on a practical level.  Also included are 3 additional works published from manuscript, with separate title pages, as follows:  Maamar Al Hahagados - A short, concise work on how to properly understand various teachings of Chazal which are seemingly puzzling.  Maamar Haikrim - Explains and clarifies fundamental beliefs – the core tenants of Judaism, such as Prophecy, Divine Provenance, Gan Eden, and Geheinom.  Maamar Hachochmah - Expounds on the ideas found in the Rosh Hashanah Prayers, and aims to define the ideas of ”Malchiyos”, ”Zichronos”, and ”Shofros”. A classic and fundamental work, quoted frequently by the great luminaries of the Mussar movement, such as R. Yeruchem Levovitz of Mir. In overall good condition, with occasional light stains. Bound a modern cloth binding.  [5], 5, [1], 3, [1], 7, [1], 10 pp.
