Handwritten Letter by R. Yechezkel Abramsky, London 1936 - A riveting and emotional letter written by R. Yechezkel Abramsky while serving as Dayan in London. Addressed to The Agudas HaRabbonim of America and Canada. In it, he attempts to raise awareness regarding the new initiatives which were proposed by the Conservative leadership, by which they attempted to change the way a Jewish marriage ceremony takes place.  He concludes with the dangers of the Conservative Rabbis and their movement, and wishes blessing on those who confront them. R. Yechezkel Abramsky (1886-1976), one of the leading Torah figures of the previous generation. In his youth he studied for a short time under R. Chaim Brisker, which left a lasting impact on his method of learning. He eventually became the Rav of Slutsk, only to be sentenced to Siberia a few years later in 1929. He was released in 1931, due to the intervention of a German chancellor on his behalf. He then fled to London, where he was appointed rabbi of the Machzikei Hadas community in London's East End. In 1934, Chief Rabbi Joseph H. Hertz persuaded him to become Rosh Beth Din of the London Beth Din, a post he held until he moved to Jerusalem in 1951.  Dated 21 Teves 5696 (1936). 1 leaf, written on official stationery.
