Heartfelt Letter of Thanks From The Aruch Hashulchan, Novardok 1904 - A heartfelt letter of thanks from R. Yechiel Michel Epstein, author of Aruch Hashulchan. Novardok 1904, written to R. Menachem Mendel, Rabbi of Khazan. In it, he thanks him profusely for the generous donations which he received on behalf the Torah scholars of Novardok.   He concludes with a wholehearted blessing: ”The merit of The Torah should protect you and those around you”.  Written by a scribe and signed by the Aruch Hashulchan himself, with his personal stamp. Dated 2 Tammuz 5664 (1904).  R. Yechiel Michel Epstein (1829-1908), often called ”The Aruch Hashulchan” after his renowned work of Halacha, was a prominent Rav and posek in Lithuania and throughout Russia. He is considered one of the most distinguished Poskim of the latter half of the 19th century.  His most important work is the Aruch HaShulchan, a comprehensive digest of Halacha that follows the structure of the Shulchan Aruch. In this work, he traces the origins of laws and customs, presents the views of earlier Rishonim, and offers his own decisions Psak based on them, sometimes incorporating the opinions of later Acharonim as well.
