Afghanistan Cast Iron Mechanical Bank - Kyser & Rex Philadelphia, PA - 1885 This is an important little bank made during the Golden Age of mechanical bank production in the mid 1880's. It depicts the confrontation of Russia and England in front of the Gate of Herat. These two empires had clashed during the Crimean War in this locale. The coin is placed at the top of the bank and when the lever is pressed inward, the coin is deposited and the animals meet in combat. This bank is in far superior and bright condition.
