Trick Pony - Cast Iron Mechanical Bank
Made by the Shepard Hardware Company. Buffalo, New York - Pat.'d July 7, 1885. Coins fitted into the mouth of the ornate carousel horse are dropped into the water trough when the operating lever is pulled; a truly magical feat for a horse that is ostensibly made of wood. The broad flat sides of the horse's body make the Trick Pony Bank extremely vulnerable to scratching, scuffing and chipping. Typically, these banks are found in only poor to decent condition. However, this is a truly exceptional example.
Condition: Pristine Plus with Bright Color.
