A mid-20th century Silver cocktail ring set with a large oval-cut purple gemstone - A Silver cocktail ring featuring a large oval-cut purple gemstone, possibly an amethyst or synthetic colour-change sapphire. The central stone is held within a decorative, scalloped multi-claw gallery setting. The ring head is supported by bifurcated shoulders that taper into a plain, slender shank. Indistinct and worn marks are present on the inner lower portion of the shank, which are not clearly legible due to age and wear. The design and construction are characteristic of the mid-20th century. Stone: approximately 18mm x 14mm.
