A Collection of Victorian Carte de Visite Portrait Photographs by G. Caldwell, A. Harley, and Charles Koenig - A collection of Victorian-era carte de visite (CDV) portrait photographs depicting various unidentified sitters in studio settings. The assortment includes female portraits, such as a standing figure in a dress with decorative fringing and an apron-style front, and male portraits, including a three-quarter length pose and a head-and-shoulders portrait presented in an oval frame. These items consist of albumen prints mounted on cardstock. The cards bear the marks of several British photographic studios. Multiple cards are attributed to G. Caldwell of the Rembrandt Art Studio, 95 Carrington Street, Nottingham, with one card identifying a branch studio at 17 Long Row. Some of these cards feature the cursive signature G. Caldwell and NOTTINGHAM in block capitals on the front. Another card is marked for A. Harley, 32 Hertford Street, Coventry. A further card is identified as the work of Charles Koenig, 321 Edgware Road, Maida Vale, Paddington. The reverse of the cards contains decorative lithographic studio details and advertisements.
