Bidspirit auction | A Collection of Cloisonne Enamel

A Collection of Cloisonne Enamel Bird-Themed Thimbles - This collection consists of thimbles featuring various avian designs, primarily owls. The pieces are decorated using the cloisonne technique, where fine metal wires create compartments filled with coloured vitreous enamels. The palette includes shades of cobalt blue, turquoise, yellow, and green. Three of the thimbles are shaped as owls with large, concentric-circle eyes, while the fourth depicts a bird with a prominent, pointed beak finished in a gold-tone metal. The tops of the thimbles are textured with a traditional pitted pattern for needlework. No manufacturer marks or country of origin stamps are visible. The workmanship and style are consistent with Chinese export cloisonne from the mid-to-late 20th century.
