A Mid-20th Century Brass Desk Model of a Boulton Paul Defiant Aircraft - A cast and polished brass desk model of a Boulton Paul Defiant fighter aircraft, a British interceptor used by the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. The model features the aircraft's distinctive low-wing monoplane profile and is characterised by the inclusion of the prominent four-gun dorsal turret located behind the cockpit. It is fitted with a semi-circular clear acrylic or plastic disc at the nose to simulate a spinning propeller. The aircraft is mounted via a brass support rod onto a square, stepped wooden plinth base. The brass has a polished finish with areas of natural patination. No maker’s marks, inscriptions, or hallmarks are visible on the aircraft or base. Length: approximately 19 cm. Wingspan: approximately 24 cm.
