The first is a box-style coffee grinder manufactured by C. August Lehnartz (C.A.L.) in Solingen, Germany. The grinder features a white painted wooden body with a turquoise trim and a matching drawer front for collecting grounds. The top section is constructed from nickel or chrome-plated metal, featuring a domed sliding hopper lid and a top-mounted crank handle with a wooden knob. The front of the wooden housing bears a label depicting a red rooster and is inscribed with C. AUGUST LEHNARTZ and C.A.L. The second item is a rotary desk pencil sharpener with a cast metal body finished in a gold-tone hammertone texture.
