A Pair of Late 19th Century Ornate Cast Brass Inkwells - A pair of ornate inkwells constructed from cast brass, designed with an Orientalist or Neo-Gothic influence. Each item features a wide, six-pointed star-shaped base with intricate pierced scrollwork and foliate motifs. A central well is mounted to the base, featuring a hinged, domed lid decorated with chased floral and leaf patterns. The two pieces feature distinct finial designs: one with a tall, slender tapering point and the other with a shorter, bulbous form. The interior of the lids exhibits darkening and residue, which is also characteristic of traditional Indian oil lamps or diyas of the period. No glass liners are present.
