A 20th Century Swiss Style Stained Glass Heraldic Panel Featuring the Bear of Bern - A rectangular stained glass panel constructed with traditional lead cames and solder joints. The central composition features a hand-painted black bear rampant with a red tongue and claws on an orange-amber ground, a heraldic motif corresponding to the coat of arms of Bern, Switzerland. This central image is surrounded by geometric sections of ruby red and cobalt blue cathedral glass. A vertical border of light blue glass to the right side contains the kiln-fired hand-painted inscription Bernhard Wise. The orientation of the text indicates the panel is photographed from the reverse side. The piece is equipped with a metal hanging chain attached to the top corners.
