A Pair of Maxwell of London Stainless Steel WW1 Period Mounted Officer's Spurs - This pair of equestrian spurs was manufactured by Maxwell of London, a prestigious British firm established in the 18th century known for high-quality bespoke boots and saddlery. The spurs are constructed from stainless steel and feature short, straight necks terminating in small, multi-point rowels. They are equipped with dark brown leather straps and wide, circular leather heel guards. The interior of the heel bands is stamped MAXWELL LONDON. The exterior of the bands, near the strap attachments, is marked S.S. and MADE IN ENGLAND. This specific pattern is highly consistent with spurs used by British mounted officers during the First World War period.
