Suunto Type K-12 Marine Steering Compass - A Suunto Type K-12 liquid-damped marine or vehicle steering compass, manufactured in Finland. The instrument features a black compass card with white graduations in degrees from 0 to 360, with numerical markings every 30 degrees. Cardinal points are marked as S for South, E for East, and W for West, with North represented by the 0 marker. The dial is printed with the text SUUNTO FINLAND. The compass includes three yellow lubber lines for alignment and a secondary fixed scale on the outer bezel. The unit is housed in a black composite bowl with a clear, domed acrylic cover. It is mounted within a black gimbaled U-bracket designed for surface or bulkhead mounting, allowing for pitch and roll. A silver adhesive label on the side of the housing reads Type K-12 / MADE IN FINLAND. The assembly includes adjustment screws on the side and base for deviation compensation.
