A Hand-Carved Wooden Relief Panel Depicting African Wildlife - A hand-carved wooden decorative relief panel of elongated, tapering form, mimicking the shape of a tusk. The obverse features vertically stacked relief carvings of various African animals, including an elephant, a giraffe with circular hide markings, a water buffalo with prominent curved horns, and a lion at the base. The figures are rendered with a rustic, hand-finished quality within recessed niches. The reverse of the object is flat and uncarved, revealing the natural wood grain and longitudinal drying cracks. A small circular hole is drilled at the pointed end for mounting. The wood is finished with a light, honey-coloured patina. Length: 23 inches.
