A Vintage Cast Brass Lion Mask Door Knocker - A substantial architectural door knocker featuring a classical lion head mask backplate. The knocker is fitted with a heavy U-shaped hinged bail handle characterised by decorative turned mouldings. The piece is sand-cast, exhibiting a granular texture on the reverse. It retains two threaded mounting bolts for door attachment, one of which is fitted with a brass cap nut. The material is cast brass with a heavy, aged verdigris patina throughout. There are no visible maker marks or inscriptions. Length: Approximately 24 cm Width: Approximately 14 cm.
