A circular South Asian style cast resin relief plaque depicting a female figure and makara - A circular relief plaque or shallow decorative dish, likely a modern casting in the South Asian style. The central motif depicts a female figure, possibly a representation of a deity such as Ganga, elegantly posed and adorned with traditional jewellery and an elaborate hairstyle. She is flanked by a reptilian creature, most likely a crocodile or gharial (makara). The background is intricately detailed with a dense, scrolling foliate pattern. The plaque features a scalloped or fluted edge. The item appears to be made from a cream-coloured cast resin or similar composite material intended to simulate the appearance of carved bone or ivory. The reverse is flat and shows visible circular sanding marks from the finishing process. No characters, symbols, or maker's marks are visible on either the front or the reverse of the item.
