A Collection of Bibles, Prayer Books, and Devotional Ephemera. Various Publishers, 19th-20th Century. - A diverse group of devotional and liturgical works comprising several leather-bound and cloth-bound volumes. The collection includes a black-bound edition of the Holy Bible in its original white box; a miniature edition of Hymns Ancient and Modern (A&M) contained within a green leather slipcase featuring black decorative tassels; and copies of The Book of Common Prayer and The Methodist Hymn-Book in various pocket formats. Notable ephemera includes a white textured souvenir booklet titled Ricordo della Prima Comunione, embossed with a gilt IHS monogram under a cross flanked by angels. A decorative volume with a floral-illustrated cover features a sentimental poem starting with the line My heart goes forth to meet thee, O my friend. The lot also contains a tan leather-bound book with a metal button-clasp and several other small devotional booklets and miniature prayer books. Bindings vary from smooth to textured leathers, many with gilt lettering and decorative blind-stamped designs. The largest volume measures approximately 25 cm in height.
