Vintage Wooden B-Flat Clarinet with Louis Gaston Patent Mark and Serial 2230 - A vintage soprano clarinet, likely pitched in B-flat, constructed from dark wood, possibly African blackwood (grenadilla), with silver-toned metal keywork in the Boehm system. The instrument is comprised of five main components: a mouthpiece with a metal ligature and cap, a barrel, an upper joint, a lower joint, and a bell. The upper joint features a stamped square logo containing the stylized initials LG. Below the logo, the instrument is marked with H.160756 and the serial number 2230. The number 160756 corresponds to a British patent granted to Louis Gaston Boosey in the early 20th century. The clarinet is presented in a vintage hard-shell carrying case with a brown velvet-lined interior.
