Antique Alfred Plasschaert Oak Cased Pigeon Racing Timing Clock - A specialised mechanical pigeon racing timing clock produced by Alfred Plasschaert of Wachtebeke, Belgium. The instrument is housed in a finger-jointed oak wooden case featuring a hinged lid and side panel. The top of the case is fitted with a cast metal swing handle and a brass latch mechanism. A circular glazed aperture on the front reveals a white dial printed with ALFRED PLASSCHAERT, including a primary numerical scale and two smaller auxiliary dials for precision recording. A rectangular window on the side provides a view of an internal metal plate also stamped with the serial number 76285. The interior contains a complex, spring-driven clockwork mechanism made of brass and steel, featuring a large rotating aluminium recording disc and various associated gears.
