Two Scientific Instruments: A Rapport London Gimbal-Mounted Barometer and a Brass Sighting Compass - A lot comprising two scientific/navigational instruments. The primary item is a desktop aneroid barometer by Rapport London. The instrument features a visible three-cell aneroid mechanism housed within a clear glass hemispherical dome, suspended on a brass gimbal frame. The silvered annular dial is engraved Rapport London and displays two scales: an outer scale measuring atmospheric pressure in centimetres of mercury (70 to 77) and an inner scale in millibars (930 to 1060). The instrument is mounted on a rectangular dark-stained wooden base. Affixed to the front of the base is a brass presentation plaque inscribed Happy Anniversary 22nd February 1993. The second item is a brass lensatic-style sighting compass. It features a hinged lid, thumb loop, and a liquid-filled capsule with a floating white card dial marked with cardinal directions and dual scales in degrees (0-360) and mils (0-64).
