Bidspirit auction | An Assortment of Vintage Miniature

An Assortment of Vintage Miniature Novelty Pencil Sharpeners Attributed to Playme - Attributed to the Spanish manufacturer Playme, this is a collection of vintage miniature novelty pencil sharpeners constructed from die-cast metal with an antiqued bronze-tone finish. These items are characteristic of desktop collectibles produced in Spain during the 1970s and 1980s. The collection includes a box-style coffee mill with a movable crank handle and a wooden-style knob; a model blowtorch or lamp featuring a white plastic shade decorated with pink floral motifs; and a composite piece featuring a circular clock face with Roman numerals, including the horological IIII for four, positioned before a miniature balance scale. Also present is a model of a treadle sewing machine with detailed base casting; a miniature field cannon on a wheeled carriage; and a commemorative Liberty Bell on a stepped plinth. The group is completed by two miniature cash registers: one featuring a header plate inscribed with CASH SALES and a display window showing $0.00, and a Spanish-market version inscribed with Apartado and Pesetas Cts above the figures 00.00. The Liberty Bell plinth is inscribed with the dates 1776 - 1976. Each item serves as a functional pencil sharpener with an integrated blade and aperture.
