An Antique Marble and Patinated Metal Double Inkwell Desk Stand with Dip Pen - An antique desk stand featuring an oval base crafted from yellow and black variegated marble. The marble base incorporates a carved horizontal groove to serve as a pen rest. Mounted to the base are two patinated metal inkwells, each decorated with embossed foliate bands and featuring a hinged, domed lid topped with a pointed finial. The interior of one lid is incised with the numeral 5. The set includes a dip pen with a red-finished handle and a metal nib. Based on visual characteristics and market context, similar examples are often attributed to German manufacture from the late 19th or early 20th century.
