A Trio of J. Hudson and Co. Nickel-Plated Brass Whistles, The Metropolitan and The Acme City Models - A trio of vintage British-made cylindrical whistles manufactured by J. Hudson and Co. of Birmingham. The collection includes one whistle stamped The Metropolitan with additional markings for J. Hudson and Co., Barr St., Birmingham. The remaining two whistles are stamped The Acme City and The Acme City Whistle respectively, both with Made in England markings. Each whistle is constructed from nickel-plated brass. One example retains a short steel link chain, while another features a knotted tan fabric lanyard. This pattern of whistle was historically adopted for use by police forces and military officers, as well as for various sporting applications.
