Bidspirit auction | A Collection of Four Boxed

A Collection of Four Boxed Flatware Sets including Italian .800 Silver Spoons and Solingen Knives - A collection of four separate sets of boxed flatware including various serving and dessert pieces. The first set consists of six Italian .800 silver dessert or fruit spoons. Each piece features a scalloped bowl with hand-engraved floral motifs and a highly decorative handle with foliate and scroll-work detailing. A ribbon inside the lid of the purple presentation case is marked ARGENTO 800, indicating Italian .800 fineness silver. The second set is an assortment of German fruit knives featuring serrated stainless steel blades and iridescent white handles, possibly mother-of-pearl or a high-quality synthetic imitation. The blades are stamped with the transcription ROSTFREI SOLINGEN. Rostfrei is the German term for stainless steel and Solingen is a well-known centre for cutlery production. The third set is a service of twelve large knives featuring heavily chased and embossed handles with a dense floral and scroll pattern, similar in design to the Wallace Sir Christopher pattern. The handles are paired with polished steel blades and are presented in a large red satin-lined case. The fourth set comprises multiple small spoons, likely coffee or teaspoons, presented in a grey velvet-lined case. The spoons are designed in a classic fiddle pattern, with several pieces featuring vermeil (gold-washed) bowls.
