A Trio of Antique European Manual Coffee Grinders Including Peter Dienes - This collection consists of three antique manual coffee mills of European manufacture, dating to the early to mid-20th century. The first grinder features a square wooden box with a distressed red paint finish and a yellowed front label bearing the Pe.De mark for Peter Dienes. It is fitted with a polished metal dome hopper and a top-mounted crank with a turned wooden knob. The second grinder is an external wheel model with a dark-stained wooden body and a wooden cartouche inscribed with KAFFEE. It features an elaborate cast iron mechanism with an exposed bevel gear system and a vertical flywheel. The third grinder is a decorative wooden box mill with a lithographed landscape scene on the front panel and a decorative cast iron hopper with scrolled details. All three items feature lower pull-out drawers for collecting grounds and have original patinated metal components.
