Two British Brass and Leather-bound Telescopes including a 1917 W. Watson and Sons Signalling Model - This lot consists of two British brass and leather-bound telescopes. The first is a three-draw military signalling telescope, Telescope Signalling (G.S.) Mark IV pattern. It features patinated brass draw tubes and a main barrel bound in stitched brown leather. The leather is stamped with the markings TEL. SIG. (G.S.) MK IV, W. WATSON & SONS LTD LONDON 1917. The instrument is accompanied by its two sliding leather protective end caps and a separate two-part cylindrical leather carrying case. The second instrument is a single-draw naval Officer of the Watch telescope. It is constructed with a polished brass draw tube and fittings, with a stitched brown leather-bound main barrel. The brass draw tube is engraved with the text OFFICER OF THE WATCH. This model includes a sliding brass sunshade for the objective lens and a sliding cover for the eyepiece.
