East German AKA Electric Explosion-Protected Fire Service Hand Lamp - This industrial safety hand lamp, attributed to VEB Grubenlampenwerke Zwickau (AKA Electric), was produced in the German Democratic Republic (DDR). Designed for use in hazardous environments, the unit features a large spherical adjustable lamp head protected by a metal grid over a thick glass lens. The head is mounted via a pivoting bracket and flexible conduit to a heavy-duty rectangular battery box base. The base is fitted with a robust top-mounted carry handle and toggle-style switches to the rear. Visible markings on the front of the battery box include the GLW maker's logo, the technical standards TGL 8851 and 0438.3/1, and the explosion-protection Ex symbol. Further technical specifications A 4,5V 1,5A TGL 70-53, B 4,8V 0,4A TGL 70-53, and IP 54 are present.
