A Vintage Carved Hardwood Bird Head Handle Walking Stick with Palm Wood Shaft - A vintage walking cane featuring a tapered shaft constructed from palm wood, also known as porcupine wood, displaying a dense linear and mottled grain pattern. The handle is carved from a dark, polished hardwood into the stylised form of a wading bird, such as a curlew, characterised by a long, tapering curved beak. The join between the handle and shaft is decorated with two light-coloured wood inlay bands, and the bird's head features a circular wood inlay eye with a dark centre. The cane terminates in a black rubber ferrule at the base. No maker's marks or signatures are visible.
