Vintage Aabacas Industrial Metal Crane SWL 5 Ton Identification Sign - An original mid-20th-century industrial metal identification sign from an overhead crane or hoist, manufactured by the Aabacas Engineering Company Ltd. of Birkenhead. The sign consists of a large rectangular sheet steel plate with an enamelled or painted cream-white background. The upper section features the manufacturer name AABACAS in large black block capitals. The lower section includes the abbreviations SWL (Safe Working Load) and TON. A smaller, square metal plate is centrally mounted over the main sign, bearing the numeral 5 to denote the specific lifting capacity. Affixed directly below this central plate is a small, dark rectangular tag with the alphanumeric code C . 19 in white. The sign is constructed for heavy-duty industrial use and includes four pre-drilled corner mounting holes.
