Edwardian Sterling Silver Mounted Cut Glass Tripod Bowl Walker and Hall Birmingham 1901 - An Edwardian sterling silver-mounted cut glass tripod bowl by the silversmiths Walker and Hall. The bowl is constructed from clear cut glass with a decorative scheme comprising a wide band of large hobstars situated above a narrower band of fine diamond or hobnail cutting. The base is finished with a large deeply cut multi-point star. The vessel is fitted with a hallmarked sterling silver rim featuring three decorative scroll handles. These handles extend downwards and outwards, terminating in scrolled leaf-motif feet to form a tripod base for the bowl. The exterior of the silver rim is stamped with a sequence of marks including the maker's mark W and H within a quatrefoil shield for Walker and Hall, the anchor town mark for the Birmingham Assay Office, the lion passant standard mark for .925 sterling silver, and the lowercase date letter b within a square shield for 1901.
