A collection of five late 19th and early 20th-century French-style brass-cased carriage clocks - A collection of five brass-cased carriage clocks, likely of French manufacture, dating from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The clocks are of varying sizes and feature polished brass cases with glass panels to the top, sides, and rear. Each clock is fitted with a different style of handle, ranging from standard corniche to more ornate scrolled and bracket designs. The dials are white enamel or painted with black Roman numeral hour markers and blued steel hands in various styles. One clock includes a subsidiary alarm dial located below the main chapter ring. The largest clock in the group is fitted with a striking movement, evidenced by the coiled metal gong visible on the backplate. The mechanical spring-driven movements feature platform escapements visible through the top glass panels. Small circular stamped marks are present on at least two of the backplates but are not clearly legible for identification. Height: 4.5 inches to 7 inches (inclusive of handles).
