Italian Painted Bonded Marble Figurine of a British Cavalry Officer - An Italian hand-painted decorative figurine depicting a 19th-century British heavy cavalry officer, possibly of the Life Guards. The figure is crafted from painted bonded marble and is mounted on a rectangular black marble plinth with white and gold-toned veining. The soldier is wearing a traditional red tunic with cream-coloured facings and cross-belt, white breeches, and tall black jackboots. He is depicted wearing a crested helmet with a long, flowing horsehair plume and stands in a formal pose with hands resting on the hilt of a sabre in its scabbard. A gold-toned foil label is affixed to the side of the marble base. The style and construction are characteristic of mid-20th-century Italian military figurines, often attributed to the workshops of Bruno Merli or similar makers of bonded marble collectibles.
