Two Vintage Technical Drawing Sets Including a Cased Mathematical Instrument Set by W.H. Harling Ltd - This auction lot comprises two vintage technical drawing sets. The principal set is a professional mathematical instrument collection by the London maker W.H. Harling Ltd. The interior of the lid features a gold-stamped maker's mark which reads: W. H. HARLING LTD / MATHEMATICAL INSTRUMENT / MANUFACTURERS / 117, MOORGATE / LONDON E.C.2. / MANUFACTURED IN ENGLAND. The set contains an assortment of instruments crafted from nickel silver and steel, including large compasses and dividers with interchangeable pencil, pen, and needle-point attachments, extension bars, several bow compasses with thumb-screw adjustments, and ruling pens. These are housed in a fitted mahogany case featuring a brass lock escutcheon, a dark blue velvet-lined base, and a moiré silk-lined lid. The secondary set is a technical pen and lettering nib set contained in a slim, blue velvet-lined hinged case. This set includes one black technical pen holder with a metal pocket clip and thirteen assorted metal nibs intended for specialised lettering or stencil work.
