A Broadhurst Clarkson and Co Britannic Three-Draw Brass and Leather Telescope - This is a three-draw portable terrestrial refracting telescope, model Britannic, produced by the London optical firm Broadhurst Clarkson and Co. The instrument is constructed with three sliding brass draws that feature a dark, aged patinated finish. The main objective barrel is encased in brown leather with visible longitudinal stitching. The first draw is stamped with the maker's mark consisting of the word BRITANNIC within a hexagonal cartouche, followed by B C and CO, MADE IN ENGLAND, and the magnification power 15 X.
