An Elastolin Composition Figure of a British Soldier Carrying a Wounded Comrade - A vintage military composition figure manufactured by O. & M. Hausser under the brand name Elastolin. The figure depicts a British or Commonwealth Army soldier in khaki service dress and a peaked cap, carrying a wounded comrade in a pick-a-back rescue pose. The rescued soldier is depicted with a white bandage around his head. Both figures are rendered wearing brown boots and generic tunic-style uniforms. The piece is constructed from a composition material, which is a mixture of sawdust, glue, and kaolin molded around an internal wire frame. The underside of the base features an incised maker's mark reading ELASTOLIN. Height: 11 cm.
