A Nauticalia Brass Desktop Weather Forecaster - A brass-mounted desktop weather forecasting instrument by Nauticalia. The device comprises an arched brass faceplate set onto a black-finished stand. The front is engraved with BAROMETER READINGS MILLIBARS AT SEA LEVEL and WEATHER FORECASTER. It features a central rotating disc calibrated from 950 to 1050 millibars with viewing apertures for pressure trends indicated as RISING, STEADY, and FALLING. Below the dial is a scale for DIRECTION OF WIND and a window at the base for TODAY'S FORECAST, which displays weather predictions such as J CHANGEABLE, MENDING. The instrument is adjusted using a side-mounted lever for wind direction and knurled brass knobs for barometric pressure and forecast selection. The reverse side features a brass instruction plate titled HOW TO USE THE WEATHER FORECASTER, detailing the four-step process for calculating a forecast and noting seasonal variations for Summer (April to September) and Winter (October to March).
