Antique Wooden and Ribbed Glass Laundry Washboard - A vintage domestic laundry washboard featuring a substantial wooden frame and a moulded glass scrubbing surface. The frame is constructed from unfinished timber, comprising two vertical side rails extending to form legs, a thick top rail, and two horizontal cross-members that secure the glass pane. The scrubbing surface is made of a single pane of translucent glass with diagonal, chevron-style ribbed moulding designed to provide friction during the washing process. The wooden surfaces exhibit a weathered patina and areas of darkening consistent with repeated exposure to water and domestic use.
