A Set of Five Koransha Arita Porcelain Small Dishes - A set of five fine white porcelain small dishes, likely mame-zara or side plates, manufactured by the Koransha factory in Arita, Japan. Each circular dish features a scalloped rim finished with a fine gilded edge. The set is decorated with individual naturalistic motifs in a delicate polychrome enamel palette, depicting butterflies, dragonflies, swallows, small birds, and small fish. The reverse of each dish is marked in underglaze brown with the three characters for Koransha (香蘭社) positioned above the factorys stylised orchid flower logo. The collection is housed in its original white-painted wooden storage and presentation box, lined with pale green satin and secured with a metal latch.
