Nagina Anglo-Indian Carved Ebony and Bone Inlaid Dressing Box - A Nagina Anglo-Indian dressing box constructed from hand-carved ebony with bone inlay. The exterior is profusely decorated with relief carvings of floral and foliate patterns, centred by a large circular medallion on the lid. The box features a split-level hinged lid that opens to reveal a rectangular bevelled glass mirror. This mirror is housed within a frame embellished with a dot-and-circle bone inlay pattern. The interior base is divided into several specialised compartments, with some retaining shaped bone-inlaid borders. The front of the box includes a central keyhole and two brass latches, all resting on a stepped base. Width: approximately 25.4 cm.
