Large Vintage British Oak and White Metal Presentation Darts Shield Plaque - A large vintage presentation trophy shield of British origin, relating to the sport of darts. The piece comprises a shield-shaped solid oak backboard mounted with an ornate embossed white metal plaque. The plaque is decorated with high-relief scrolling foliate and acanthus leaf borders framing a central reserve. This reserve contains a raised miniature representation of a standard clock-pattern dartboard with numbers arranged in the traditional sequence. Engraved centrally below the dartboard is the title PAPER WORKS TROPHY.
