The instrument features barrels and eyepieces inlaid with vertical panels of mother-of-pearl, complemented by a white, faceted handle with an adjustable gilt-metal folding joint. The metal components, including the bridge, lens surrounds, and focusing wheel, are finished in a gold-toned gilt. The glasses feature a central knurled focusing screw.
