A 1950s Gantoy Musical Television Novelty Jewellery Box - A vintage novelty musical jewellery box manufactured by Gantoy, designed in the form of a mid-century television set. The cabinet is constructed from dark brown textured hard plastic with a cream-coloured inner bezel and a translucent horizontally-ribbed plastic screen. Behind the screen is a monochrome image depicting a woman playing a guitar. The front features two non-functional control knobs and a central pull-out drawer for storage. The drawer front is decorated with a shield-shaped maker's label featuring vertical blue and white stripes and a red border, printed with GANTOY. The reverse of the unit consists of a perforated brown plastic panel secured by four screws, which houses a metal butterfly-style wind-up key for the clockwork musical mechanism.
