A Silver Plated Filigree and Jade Praying Mantis Figurine - A Silver Plated figurine modelled as a praying mantis in a standing posture with raised raptorial forelegs. The body, head, and legs are cast with realistic anatomical details, including serrated edges to the forelegs and a segmented abdomen. The wings are constructed from intricate scrolling filigree wirework within a solid frame, each wing set with two oval green Jade cabochons. The head is inset with two small circular red cabochon stones to represent the eyes. The metal surfaces exhibit a naturally aged patina with dark tarnish throughout, and minor areas of wear to the plating revealing the base metal beneath. Length: 12.7 cm.
