A Brass George Dowler Beehive Roasting Jack - A Victorian brass roasting jack featuring a cylindrical clockwork housing and a tapering handle stem. The body is fitted with an applied semi-circular brass plate featuring an embossed beehive skep motif surrounded by small stars, with the characters GEORGE DOWLER in the top arc and WARRANTED in a banner across the base. The front of the cylinder includes a square winding arbor protected by a circular sliding brass cover. The piece is finished with an iron suspension loop at the top and a swivel hook at the base.
